SEARCY, Ark. (July, 17, 2025) — Harding University announces advancements in technology and education following a $1 million gift from a private donor.
An addition to the Fall 2025 course schedule includes a one-hour credit course titled Bitcoin, Monetary History and the Financial Frontier to be taught by University alumnus and Blockworks content director, Bennett Holloway. Course curriculum includes Bitcoin’s novel design principles and ideology as well as discussions about how it’s shaping the trajectory of financial infrastructure.
“It’s difficult to overstate the speed and complexity of technological change in today’s marketplace,” Holloway said. “A solid understanding of the core technologies driving innovation and the historical forces behind them will equip students to keep pace and excel in the modern workforce.”
This course in the College of Business Administration parallels a new AI major in the department of computer science slated to begin Fall 2025. Students who choose this major will learn how to design and create AI tools and consider how AI can be used ethically to benefit others. In a world where technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace and secularization often shapes its direction, the need for thoughtful, ethical leaders in the field of artificial intelligence has never been greater.
Having celebrated a 100-year milestone last year, the University continues to strive for excellence in innovation and character by equipping students not only to succeed in a competitive and rapidly changing marketplace but also to influence it with a Christ-centered perspective.
