My name is Whitney Ashby, I am the current Executive Director of Gentiva Hospice here in Searcy, AR. My story started out as a 25 year old daughter whose Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Through the trials and tribulations of chemo, hospitalizations, and loss of independence that my father faced, we suddenly found ourselves needing hospice at 4 am in the Emergency Department of Forrest City Medical Center. With 1 phone call, I had an on call nurse waiting on us when we got to my dad's home. From this point on, I was able to just be a daughter, and not the daughter who was also a RN. I have since made this my life's mission, to meet patient's and families where I once was and offer that same chance. When Gentiva comes into your home, you are met with love and support from day 1. We look forward to the opportunity to love on and care for the families in Searcy.
